Self-isolated and feeling down so testing the website...
When the Coronavirus reports first started to come to light I stayed true to form and treated it lightly. As the contagion has spread my jokes have disappeared - people have lost their lives and that just isn't funny. I am in one of the high-risk groups and am self-isolating from today. My immune system is reduced by 80% by the medications I take to combat my MS. This being the case, I am taking the following steps: 1) I am self-isolating as much as I can. Due to amount of appointments I have at hospital I'll still need to go in from time-to-time though the NHS is cancelling as many as practical. 2) I am washing my hands regularly but then again I did anyway. 3) I am taking my meds. 4) I am NOT stockpiling, hoarding, or panic-buying. Nobody needs so many toilet rolls or that much hand sanitiser! When you eventually have to buy some more in 2022 you will be shocked! lol 5) I am refusing to be panicked and I get my news from multiple sources. 6) I am NOT writing a releasing a shoddy and hastily written self-help book about Corona virus! Stay safe people and get your advice about this pandemic from reputable sources (that does not include tabloids...) After the longest time, M. Leon Smith's horror wiki page has been updated.
Hopefully you will support me by clicking HERE and get my page noticed - aw go on! It costs nothing and only takes a second or two! I am looking to expand the number of people I can reach so I am offering Link Swaps. I am looking for independent authors, artists, and creators!
If you have a site you want to promote then drop me a message at esskaye.editor@gmail.com No money will be charged ever! I am a fan of, and an advocate for, self-publishing. Anyone who wants to self-publish has to learn many skills, or at least, someone with those skills who fits into you budget. I do intend to post a "how-to" based on my experiences.
What you need to remember is money is meant to travel toward the author - not away. You may need to hire an artist (as I have), an editor, a publicist, or a myriad of other professionals but you should never have to pay an upfront fee to produce the book. With print on demand you should expect to pay per book but never a fee to print your stories. The reason I mention this is Google Ads. The automated system they use is based on keywords and as such many ads are popping up for what can only be considered "vanity" presses. These companies will cheerfully take your money but leave you no further forward. I delete these and block them from re-appearing but I can't be here 24 hours per day. Be careful out there, authors. I can do a great many things. Some well, others...
Following a conversation with my brother (that's a thing I do well - make friends that become family) I decided to bake... I cook regularly and did work in a restaurant in the dim, dark recesses of time so I approached the task with no qualms. I "made" Garlic and Spinach flat bread. Oh dear. Flour everywhere. Chopped spinach in every nook and cranny. I don't think I will be making this again... Just because I can it doesn't mean I should! What can you do that perhaps you shouldn't? Comment below and don't forget to hit the 'Like' above if you haven't already... Speak again soon :) |
